This was a unique design for a client who desired a colorful drought-tolerant and low-maintenance landscape with a subtle Japanese theme integrated. The design included a new paver patio with a modern firepit, organic-shaped areas, and small pocket areas of cobblestone strategically placed around a meandering dry river bed separating a decomposed-granite path from a mix of pebble and smaller cobblestone areas, with boulders decorated around the yard to capture the theme.
Colorful plants such as a Palo Verde Tree, Purple Orchid Tree, 'Maki' Podocarpus, 'Electric Pink' Cordyline, 'Sticks on Fire' Euphorbia, 'Amazing Red' Flax, Blue Fescue, and 'Kiwi' Aeoniums bring out the vibrance of this design.
