This project was for a family in the Clairemont area of San Diego. They wanted a toddler and dog friendly landscape design that included some privacy in their front yard with fencing, a new driveway, new side gates, and a full backyard design as well.
The front yard included redwood horizontal fencing, a synthetic turf area, (2) raised planter seat walls with Strawberry trees, and new parkway walkable stabilized-decomposed granite (DG) with low-maintenance succulent planting. The backyard encompassed a new modern style modular paver patio with 2’ sq. steppers coming off of it that leads to both side yards. The East side yard included steppers through a larger stabilized DG area for a shed / storage. The West side yard included a bamboo screening hedge and steppers set in stabilized DG again for access all the way around the house. Also included was open cable fencing along the back property line to capture their beautiful hilltop panoramic views, a new large grass area, and a new play area with rubber mulch for their young son. The planting included all low-maintenance colorful shrubs, grasses, & succulents.
